Downsides are that the instructions are VERY condensed, there is a secondary set of lights you need to wire and there is an extra package of silver boltsscrews for some reason that were not required for assembly. I did put this together myself so it possible! But if you struggle with limited directions, you may need to hire a professional. I absolutely love this chandelier. It looks wonderful in our new home! I love that it gives a touch of elegance to the room without being gaudy. I feel that the matte black and brass go well with the current color scheme of the home and really elevate the entire aesthetic.
