Building this shelf was no joke. Granted, the instructions say 2 people to put it together but I'm one of those independent women. Took me about 2.5 hours alone. The tabs were not easy to fight with to get them in the right position but it's fantastic when it's done. It actually looks nice and not as industrial as I was expecting. I'm using it for linens and things like that so I won't be putting anything super heavy on it. The shelf surfaces are made of compressed cardboard or something like that so I wouldn't trust it with anything really heavy. These metal shelves are fantastic, they are strong and being metal they don't start to sag like plastic or wood shelves. They are super easy and fast to assemble and this shelf in particular has double markings at certain intervals to make it easy to place the clips for even shelves, usually you have to count lines to make sure you get the plastic brackets in the right place but the double lines made it so easy. I like the design. For anyone that has books or dvd's it maybe hard for them to prop up alone without support. Only issues is the packers at the warehouse or manufacture packed it with scuffs in the black paint on multiple parts. I tried to hide them toward the back side. I would send it back for a replacement but Wayfair charges for shipping it back to the price of the item. The carriers beat up the package during transit for sure.
