I like the look of it and the veneers look realistic. There are lots of pieces so don't plan on it being a quick build. I did on my own with no assistance. Pretty good instructions -- I did miss the strip that covers the seem of the 2 flimsy panels that go across the back of the lower cabinet so watch for that. There are no extra screws/fasteners so keep track of your parts. I found it odd that there were no covers for the shelf screws that are very visible, so I covered them with small brown felt chair leg pads. Brown contact paper would be better.. Jayne. Columbus, OH. luv the versatility of this unit and the ability to add more sections down the road. also love the simple but elegant design, my only dislike was the fact that brown is no longer available, also the instructions indicate that you would need to screw the top shelving unit into the basedrawers. I dislike, putting wood screw holes in the base. They should of designed it where instead of using wood screws, you could use machine screws to take it apart without damaging the wood.. William. The good: The bookcase is beautiful and fits my space so nicely. It came fairly quickly which is always nice. The bad: Not very well made and flimsy. We were afraid to even put books on it to be honest.. When I put a few books on it, I heard a crackling noise which is never a good sign. My husband warned me that it might not last very long. I am NOT a pro builder by any means even though I followed the steps as closely as I possibly could. I messed up a few times and my husband had to fix it for me. Was kind of a pain to build.. Jackie.
