We anticipate it will take up very little space with a large capacity. The packaging was not the best as the box arrived crushed and there was very thin foam sheets between the pieces. We are in the process of inspecting the pieces and putting it together; once together we will change the 4-star review if there are any issues. If not, we will keep the 4-star rating, taking off one star for the packaging from the manufacturer that could have been improved by simply adding a stabilizing piece of cardboard to the middle of the box.. I was looking for a rack to hold clip boards. None of the racks say how much space there is from the bottom of the shelf to the bottom of the next shelf, but I was hopeful a clipboard would fit. It is about 12 inches of vertical storage and the clipboards are 13 inches. Luckily it has a wire across the middle so I can put the clip boards in and let them lean forward a bit at the top. This storage organizer is amazing. I can finally keep my architectural drawings organized. The black is high gloss and is an automatic dust magnet. Eventhough each piece came wrapped in plastic there still were a lot of scratches and divets on the them. It will be tucked in a corner therefore the imperfections did not bother me.
