I store cat food in the unit. It is functional and looks good in the room. That said, the cabinet materials are quite thin, I did split one piece of pressed wood during assembly. The package arrived with some significant damage, but luckily the cabinet parts were very well packed and insulated, so no damage to the cabinet.
