This Didier Barrister Bookcase (4 door - HAVANA GOLD stain selected) works for what I needed it for. A couple of suggestions to the manufacturer: foot pads should be leveling type foot pads, I have tiled floors. Doors should close magnetically to ensure doors close ALL the WAY, and an inside (top-level) electrical on-off light would be a nice addition. Of the 2 I ordered, one arrived badly damaged. Because I needed the pair and these were out of stock for awhile, I refused the second one out of fear of never getting a matched pair. I wasn't aware of the $200 fee for the return, but lesson learned. No more Wayfair!!! On first glance, the bookcase is really pretty. But honestly, the $1500 bookcase looks like a $500 piece. The shelves are shallow and short, especially when the doors are opened and raised into the shelf, so the practicality for holding books is lacking. I purchased the 3-shelf size, 36" H X 48" wide. It holds my entire cookbook collection and does double duty as a divider between the foyer and kitchen/dining area. Beautiful, heavy wood in the mission style. The only thing I'm not crazy about is the backing. I wish furniture manufacturers would stop to consider that not every piece of furniture is going to be put against a wall, so it would be nice to have a decent backing. The back of this bookcase is some sort of shiny, vinyl covered panel and the color is awful. Maybe it was meant to be faux marble, but they missed by a mile. Each of the door can be pulled up and can get pushed inside like a true Barrister bookcase with beveled glass. There is no assembly required as each of the block is fully assembled with the doors. You will need to stack the blocks but there is no drilling or screwing required.
