This cute set is handmade in Lancaster county, PA by our local Amish artisan partners. The wood is reclaimed chicken barn rafters and has all of the characteristics that you would expect from reclaimed barn wood! Our natural variation accent shelves are not stained and the color can vary from piece to piece. With thick and sturdy handmade raw metal brackets, these versatile shelves make a great addition to any room. Please note that the brackets must be mounted into wall studs. All mounting hardware is included.

We do not add to or take away from any of the natural distressing that has occurred from decades of use. You will see nail holes, screw holes, nails, discoloration, scratches, dents, and many other variations. Each of these markings is a glimpse into the history of your shelves. You may see holes from a mortise and tenon joint or other time-honored wood joining techniques. You may notice where a hinge or hook is used to hang. No two pieces of wood are the same - that is what makes these shelves so special! They are one of a kind. They have a long story already, and when you bring them into your home, that story continues with you.

The distressed look is achieved by hand with attention to detail. As a result, no two beams are the same and your beam will be one-of-a-kind. Dimensions may vary slightly from selected, due to the nature of the wood and the time effect on it. We use pine boards for our distressed mantels. The final product might appear a bit lighter or darker because of the lighting and nature of the wood.

While I love the look of this shelf, the bracket is very lacking and will not hold it level. Most hidden brackets have "arms" that extend out the length of the shelf but this one does not. Therefore, there is very little support and the whole shelf droops in the front. This amazing set of 2 reclaimed barn wood shelves is handmade in Lancaster County, PA by our local Amish artisan partners. This combination set features one 24” wide shelf and one 40” wide shelf. Our Natural shelves are not stained and the character and color will vary slightly from piece to piece. These thick and sturdy shelves are also available in our Coffee Bean stain and White Wash finish. All marks, knots, cracks, and holes are naturally occurring. With our Natural variation not being stained, the cut ends may be slightly lighter than the rest of the shelf, as cutting exposes the fresh, untouched wood. This adds a lovely contrast to the aging of the rest of the wood and accentuates the character making for a stunning display on your wall! Please note that we recommend mounting our floating shelves into wall studs, but it is not required. All mounting hardware is included. Available in Natural (no stain), Coffee beans, and White Wash.
