Oh my what a challenge! There are really only pictures with arrows to provide direction. There was no parts list, however, I laid everything out and hoped! It took two days and probably a total of 6 hours to install. All the parts were there, so thankful. The only problem with the light is the crystal chandelier part was not level, it was twisted and did not notice this until ready to install. I managed to get it back to its correct shape but was concerned the welds would break, luckily it held. Anyway, it is quite beautiful and love it in my office. I want to love this so so much! It was easy to install and other than being tedious work to hang the crystals they were easy. It looks absolutely gorgeous, however as you can see, I did not expect that the room would be so dark above the light, I also did not realize the rest of the room would have the broken light pattern on it. I have never owned a chandelier so I was unaware of these effects. For those reasons I dropped a star off. But the fan is so awesome on this light and the light it gives to the floor is excellent as well. I also do not like that the remote for this light is black.
