It’ll take some getting used to but the aesthetics are pleasing to my eyes. I went from dark cherry finish with box springs down to a distressed white platform bed. I can’t stop looking at it every time I walk into my room! Disclaimer It took 2 people approx 3 hours to assemble. If you’re doing it by yourself it’ll take much longer. It’s easier with at least 2 people and (if you’re the 2nd person go ahead and find you an allen wrench, it’ll go by faster than our 3 hours). Tip The box is heavy and much heavier if you’re going upstairs, so get some muscles to help you. Also check off each item as you take it out of the box, to make sure nothing is missing.. My husband assembled it in a couple of hours without any major issues. Once put together, there was absolutely no wobbling or creaking—it feels very solid and well-made. I did purchase a 2-inch box spring to provide additional support for our 14-inch mattress. Even with the box spring, there is still plenty of headboard visible, and the overall look is beautiful. The frame comes with four support slats, and each slat has two legs that extend to the floor for added stability and support. I was initially worried that the quality might be lacking or that the bed would feel rickety, but neither of those concerns turned out to be true. The craftsmanship appears to be very good, the bed is sturdy, and it looks fantastic in our bedroom. I would absolutely purchase this bed again and would confidently recommend it to others. We were looking for something with more of a vertical footprint to make space in our bedroom and this was just right, size-wise. It looks great too, and it's nice to have real wood. Assembly took quite a bit of time, especially since there weren't predrilled holes for a lot of the screws, but it all came together. As others noted, it's good to be aware that the back panel is unfinished, so this dresser must be set up against a wall (which is necessary for safety anyway, with a secure fastener included). I wish the drawers had a slightly smoother or controlled glide, and plan to add some felt to quiet the closure. Overall, a solid buy and great for our space!. Anonymous. Whittier, CA.
