The flat surface of the 4 quart Braiser is ideal for multiple portions while its mid-height, straight sides contain splatter and hold additional ingredients. Convenient for one pan meals, braising, frying, sautéing, and baking.

Beef stew was my first recipe in my new braiser. I made one-half of a recipe which called for 2 lbs of beef, with reduced amounts of vegetables. The braiser was about one-half full and resulted in five cups of stew. The pan heated rapidly on a ceramic stovetop. I did have a little trouble regulating temperature down to simmer from medium high heat, but I think I just need more practice. The beef turned out very tender, and the veggies cooked to perfection. I do think the domed stainless steel lid is a little lightweight, but it performed well in keeping moisture in. In two hours cooking time, I never needed to add water.
