The item was what I was looking for. The instructions were a little difficult to follow. Finally got it put together right. Also the lock was a little difficult as well. I'm happy with it in the end, but the first locker was delivered with lots of dents. Customer service promptly shipped us a replacement. However, the second locker also has dents, just not as noticeable. Thankfully they're mostly not super visible. I will have to return the first locker to fedex and it weighs 100 lbs so that is no small task. So I didn't want to bother ordering a third hoping for less dents. I needed a heavy duty shelf unit to store and organize my ammunition. Bought two units as I wanted six shelves on one and only four on a second for bulkier, but not as heavy, items. The units are very sturdy and easy to assemble. Working alone, it took about 30-40 minutes to assemble, but I also moved two shelves due to my miscalculation. I "de-rated" the individual shelves to about 400 pounds due to adding a sixth shelf, and have a total of about 1,800 pounds on the six shelf unit. The "solid" shelves do sink a bit in the middle until they meet the middle brace, and yes, the load is well distributed. It would be much better if the top of the brace matched the elevation of the edge braces. Overall, I am very happy with the shelves and would recommend them if you need to store heavy loads and need/want a smooth surface v. wire shelving. The empty box is on top as a dust shield.. Tom. This cabinet was extremely well packaged. The quality of the pieces was evident as we unboxed them. All parts were labeled, with orientation arrows clearly added to help with assembly. The assembly instructions were excellent and easy to follow, although the inset photos could have been a little larger. A magnifying glass is helpful. One screw was preinstalled, but on the parts list it doesn't note that, so I thought it was missing, but a quick call to customer service cleared that right up. Also the keys are taped with white tape inside the recessed door handle, so they were also not easy to spot. It would have been helpful if these had been noted. But the quality is excellent, and I have confidence that the middle and lower shelves will hold the heavy items I placed on them without any bowing. The other two shelves are easy to adjust and are very sturdy as well. I wish I had space for just a little wider, but I was working in a limited spot. Nonetheless, this held several of my previously always-on-the-counter appliances and my heavy cast iron cookware, and was a great addition to our kitchen! It is a really nice looking cabinet on all four sides!! I thought it was a bit pricey, but after receiving and assembling, I am satisfied that we got what we paid for!
