I like the design. For anyone that has books or dvd's it maybe hard for them to prop up alone without support. Only issues is the packers at the warehouse or manufacture packed it with scuffs in the black paint on multiple parts. I tried to hide them toward the back side. I would send it back for a replacement but Wayfair charges for shipping it back to the price of the item. The carriers beat up the package during transit for sure. Once everything was put together, I was impressed with how sturdy it felt, I wasn’t sure if it would be or not and it was very sturdy. One feature I especially love is that each shelf has a raised lip around three sides. It's a small detail that makes a big difference because it helps keep everything from sliding off the shelves. I don't have to worry about picture frames or small decorations getting bumped off the edge, and it gives the shelf a more refined look. The bookcase was fairly easy to put together, though it probably would have gone faster if my dog Unni had not been trying to “help” during assembly. It ended up being a little smaller than I originally expected, but that was on me for not checking the dimensions closely enough before ordering. In the end, it worked out well as a compact bookshelf for the bedroom. One of my favorite features is the built in lighting. The brightness is adjustable, which makes it great for softer nighttime lighting. I personally don’t use the touch slider controls very often because it also comes with a remote, which is honestly really convenient since I can adjust the lights without getting out of bed. Overall, it’s a nice looking shelf with a modern feel and works well for smaller spaces. That said, it made me realize I’ll probably still need to find a larger bookshelf for my living room.. Trisha.
