After an exhaustive search we found this perfect ZLINE microwave to put in the corner of our new kitchen next to the pantry. This is an OTR model but it can be mounted as we did. It convenient yet out of the way, not taking up counters pace. We didn't care for the microwave in a drawer, so this was the fix. The tubular handle matched other appliances. My only thought was I wished the handle matched. For some reason it's shiny chrome on a stainless trimmed front? You don't notice as it's in the corner, but we did wonder. This microwave has quickly become one of my favorite appliance purchases. The size is perfect—large enough to handle everyday needs, but still sleek enough to fit seamlessly into my kitchen island. What makes it stand out most is the design. The black stainless steel paired with the champagne bronze accents feels luxurious and unique. It coordinates beautifully with the rest of my kitchen suite: the ZLINE refrigerator in black and bronze, my 48” Thor by Gordon Ramsay range, and the Thor dishwasher. Even though the appliances are from slightly different brands, the gold fixtures tie everything together in a cohesive, high-end look. I love that ZLINE included a black handle option in case I ever want to swap out the champagne bronze, although I honestly don’t see myself doing that since the brushed gold look is stunning. Installation was straightforward—it only required an outlet behind it, and I chose not to use a GFI outlet since the microwave is in my island without a sink nearby. The main reason I selected this model is because it doubles as a convection oven. It’s incredibly convenient to have a second oven in the kitchen for holidays or entertaining. The broil feature works well for crisping food, though I do wish there was an air fry setting. Preheating takes about 15 minutes, which I find a little slow, but the cooking results are excellent. It doesn’t have the push-button drawer feature some microwaves include, but that’s one less part to break down the road. I purchased this microwave as we wanted to purchase all ZLINE products for our kitchen as well as receiving the microwave earlier to have it install for our stone fabricator to get precise templates made for our kitchen quartz backsplash around the microwave area and countertops, etc. They installed stone yesterday afternoon. Our kitchen is a work in progress. We are under construction currently and have no electrical or plumbing turned on anywhere and not everything is hooked up yet. We have approximately one months and a couple of weeks left of construction for our interior to be completed. I love the style and the interior of the microwave. We have five small surface scratches as you open the interior door, they are located on the bottom stainless steel panel below the interior opening. Upon delivery the microwave sat in the box for two weeks before installation. Once installed we noticed the interior scratches while watching them install. When the door is shut, you cannot visibly see this. Not the best outcome. Once the construction is completed I will be able to test for functionality. I can update my review at that time. We look forward to our Autograph Edition S/S with Champagne Bronze induction range and counter depth fridge being installed in the future once our flooring is installed. The unit itself is nice. A couple of issues is that the description is incorrect. The company confirmed that this unit is NOT 700 CFM but 400. After multiple attempts and communications between Wayfair and the company we decided to keep the unit. So far is working great. Keep in mind that this is not a fingerprint free stainless steel so during the installation it might be a good idea to wear gloves.
