The basket at bottom easily fits 6-8 pairs of children’s shoes, probably 4-6 adult shoes. The “eyes” on the head are optional, so I chose to forego since it’s in our main entry way and not necessarily using as a “kids” decor item. When in use, you can’t even tell it’s an animal shape.
