I have never had a batch disposal before. I have always had the traditional ones that require a switch to turn on. The only real issue (and its not much of one) is with how our sink is in the kitchen island there isn't a good spot to set the plunger when not in use other than in the sink itself. It is powerful and I am really happy how well it does its job. There is no flap that covers the opening to the drain like on traditional disposals. I thought this would be an issue having it open and silverware falling in. With our drain off to the right it really has not been a problem. Although I did have a fork fall into it the fact that the disposals "neck" between the sink and the bottom is long so the fork never fully fell into the disposal it just stood straight up. Also not having that flap covering the disposal makes it much easier to see at a glance if anything has made its way in that should be there. It is noisy but not bad, just as I expected as from traditional. I like the safety of it not turning on unless the plunger is in. We have young kiddos. Just makes me feel better. Three Stars because one of two failed to close tightly.! I bought TWO Radiator control valves: they arrived immediately, along with the cut-off valves & elbows I had ordered. Both Radiator valves were installed yesterday: One works perfectly (yeah, 5-stars), BUT the 2nd failed to close tightly and leaked (not dripped but leaked!) .. so I’ll have to replace it (0 stars). Fortunately, I can close the in-line Shut-off valve I had installed upstream, and accomplish Replacement without having to drain my Hot Water Radiator system. Crisis avoided!. Gary Knebel. Install Instruction: 1) Turn off Water Supply 2) Press the water dispenser to release any pressure from the water line. 3)Turn off the ON/OFF valve water line that is to the left of the filters inside the unit. 4) Turn power off by unplugging of the power source. 5) Remove existing filter by turning it counterclockwise for it to release and pull out. 6)Install the new water filters by inserting them up and in and turn clockwise until locked in and align with label facing you. 7) Now you will turn the water supply in the dispenser to ON position. 8) Turn power of the unit back on by plugging in the unit. 9) Turn on Water Supply. 10) Press and hold the Filter Reset button for 3-5 Seconds 11) Dispense water and check for leaks.
