Wanted to upgrade our over the stove microwave and found this LG one. I love the slide out vent option. It really does get rid of steam and oil smoke from the front burners. It will help when we change to a gas range and oven. Other reviews stated issues with the side out function. I see no issues with the durability. Just don’t lean on it or put things on it. Power is amazing and food cooks quickly and evenly. Some others disliked that the screen goes blank until you open the door. I don’t notice this as an issue. You have to open the door to put your food in first. The only time it requires opening is to use the timer function. We are very impressed with the look, features, quality and price. Both are used in bedrooms - one needed to have the portable as it is an egress for fire dept. Anyway, in the past the portable units I bought from LG as well as De'Longhi ALL had a coupler to snap into place. This helps to keep the hose where it needs to be. Your unit even has the tabs to snap said coupler into the unit. BUT there was not one provided. Am thinking Frigidaire forgot this as opposed to thinking it was not needed. The hose does not attach to that base and could easily come out. I hate to duct tape it as it will definitely leave sticky residue and frankly when I pay this much for a unit, I expect it will have all connectors included. Being able to schedule the unit to turn on has been a game changer. I like the night mode, especially since the screen turns off and it slowly tapers off how cool it is. It did startle us the first night because it makes a bit of a noise compared to a larger unit we have when on auto mode. The louver or where the air discharges moves up and down if you'd like and being able to have it close when the unit is off is nice. It is recommended that you wait 24 hours to turn your unit on after it arrives. I went against that recommendation because it was absolutely sweltering in my studio space that had nothing but a fan. I purchased two of these bad boys to cover 1030 ft.² of open space with 18ft ceilings. I met FedEx AT THE DOOR! And they brought them in for me and set each unit at each window I wanted them to be placed. So delivery was smooth and easy. The installation instructions were easy to understand and the units took no more than 10 minutes each to be installed. NOTE: you will need some weather tape to seal off some gaps, but that’s to be expected. It was likely about 90° in my space before I turned them on and these had me feeling much cooler and more comfortable within about 30 minutes (run on medium at 68°) and after about an hour and a half, I didn’t feel the need to run them on medium anymore. They’re pretty quiet on the low fan cool setting, but of course they are louder on medium and high but nothing that will disturb my peace in my studio. having a window AC unit is not the prettiest thing so I can’t speak to aesthetics but I’m very happy with these —my problem has been solved..
