I received this as a birthday gift. We have wanted a nice firepit for a while and my wife suprised me with this gift. The assembly is easy and I only had a few issues. 2 of the legs had the threaded inserts installed upside down and I have requested an approved replacement at no charge. The instructions called for the installation of plastic inserts in the legs but they were not in the kit or listed in the parts list. Waiting on word back on that. 3 tile had minor imperfections and some chipping but have been authorized replacement at no cost. The instructions called for installing the ladder frames onto already installed studs however there were no studs and the frames were installed easily into the corner legs using the screw bolts provided into the mounting threaded inserts. That was a little confusing until I nuked it out. Also be sure to align the ladder framed with the 90 degree supports for the fire bowl facing inwards as there is no mention of that alignment in the directions. Of course I had one correct and one backwards but was a 3 minute fix. Overall this pit is easy to put together and looks really nice. I haven't made a fire in it yet as I want to receive and install the replacement parts first. Fire pit is nice, but it is not fully cast iron. Only the top part and the lid are cast iron parts. The base it sheet metal and the legs are sheet metal. If you push it along the ground too hard one of the legs may buckle. Its only about 40% cast iron. I was expecting the base and legs to be cast iron. The price was low so so I will keep it. I had a fully cast iron chiminea that lasted about 25 yrs. I was trying to get another of similar quality. There is no way this one is going to last 25 years. The pit is easy to assemble and looks great. Be careful not to leave it sitting in the sun. The metal parts get hot quickly. My delivery was poor. The pit was tossed over my Six foot privacy fence onto my lawn. It was not handled or delivered to my front door properly.. John. Fri May 22 2026
