This is such an upgrade from our 10,000 BTU portable air conditioner. We purchased this Danby because our old a/c unit started blowing hot air. After checking to see if it needed draining, filter cleaning, checking the hose for blockages, etc., we realized it was likely not worth trying to get it repaired. We've bought Danby products before but never a/c units. So far, it's doing a great job. We have it set up in our living room, which counts as two rooms if we were to carpet it and so far, it's keeping the space nice and cool. We live in an apartment, so this works really well. The true test will be how it lasts during some of the summer's longer heat waves, but as we're experiencing mini heat waves right now (that last maybe 2-3 days), I'm happy to say that it's doing a decent job. Oh, and it's super quiet. Our other a/c unit that we have in the bedroom runs a lot louder than this one and is maybe only a year old. Gotta admit, the light was better than we expected. The light combinations between actinic light (6500K) and yellow light (3000K) make this a mood synchronizer. Initially when turned on it was too dim, then we realized it was in the middle of it's intensity. The brightest intensity adequately lights up our kitchen. The fan we deemed weak, perhaps because our previous fixture was a light&fan combo that had bigger 3' diameter blades. Fan flow in our opinion is offset by the inconspicuousness of the fan as it is transparent, a nice feature. It has a remote you could loose and appears to hold it's last setting when turned on. Nice hot tub. Takes a while to heat up and loses heat pretty quickly when you open the lid, but my kids love it. Unfortunately, we had to winterize it for the winter because my energy bill DOUBLED after we set it up. We live in Michigan so it uses a lot of energy during the colder climates. So if you're hot tub shopping just know that these plug and play ones seem really nice and cost effective, but they actually cost way more to run than a hard wired hot tub would.
