A one-of-a-kind yet functional work of art, which can serve as an end table, display stand or stool. As with all natural exotic wood products, there will be some slight variations in color, texture and finish color. A natural product of this type could have visible marks from tools used, patches from small repairs, knot holes, natural inclusions, and wormholes. Suar wood aka monkey pod wood is strong, very durable, and the color and grain of the wood are pleasing as you will see tones from light yellow sapwood edges to rich dark chocolate-brown tones of the heartwood. The rich color and beautiful grains of the heartwood, resemble black walnut. It is also highly resistant to decay and termites. Suar wood only requires basic maintenance such as soap & water to maintain its grandeur. For environmental concerns suar is not on any endangered species list and it is eco-friendly. Super disappointed that this item is much shorter than expected. It is about 23 inches high, instead of 29 inches like it was supposed to be. I even called Wayfair before placing the order to make sure I would receive the 29-inch version of this. I thought it was odd that the 29-inch version was less expensive than the 23-inch version, but the Wayfair associate assured me that I was ordering the 29-inch version. The item arrived more than a week later than the originally promised time frame. Also, the finish is a bit lighter than what I expected. There are a few dark marks on the top of the furniture piece that are either from the stain or from sanding that wasn't finished quite right. Otherwise, it seems like a solid, well-made piece.
