This plastic sash cam fits onto the upper top sides of the window (vent) that is sliding up or down. The sash cam and window then rest on the top guide of the sash balance. It has dimensions of the top being 1 in. wide by 5/8 in. deep and 1-5/16 in. tall. The width of this top guide needs to fit correctly in the window's track frame in order for it to slide up or down properly, and the depth allows the window to correctly rest on the top guide of the sash balance.

This non-tilt block and tackle channel balance is constructed of a mill-finished steel U-frame housing. The internal working components include a spring, cord and pulley system, but the plastic top and bottom guide shoes must be selected separately as they are not included with the balance itself. These window counter balances are used to counter-weight the moving sash on single and double hung vinyl windows. If your windows (sashes), are having problems staying up when opened, it may be that your sash balances or hardware needs to be replaced. The sash balances hold the weight of the window pane, over time, the springs can wear out or fail. Replace your sash balance for a smoother operation of your window and allow fresh air to enter your home with a window that stays open.

This is an assortment of the most common sash balance top and bottom guides. It contains the 2 most common top guides and 3 of the most common bottom guides. It also contains 2 rivets to install the top and bottom guide of your choice. In addition, there is one take-out clip. Most of the time this kit will provide what is needed to finish installing 1 sash balance. Be sure to order the H 3740 riveting tool.

These are quite cute and match the finish of my door knobs and other trim exactly. However, Im going to have to use double stick tape or mounting tape because the magnets simply dont hold even with the lightest load on the inside of my exterior metal door of my laundry room. This is an older style of casement lock painted antique brass on zinc diecast and used on older style wood casement windows. The three different keepers allow for most mounting applications whether it be a swing in or swing out casement window. Installation screws are included. Besides being used on casement windows, it is often used on cupboards and cabinets for that Retro look.
