My mother has recently moved in and she is a lot cooler natured than we are so we turn the central air conditioner higher to not freeze her out, which was leaving us not as cool as we like, especially to sleep. But this bad boy has really helped keep our bedroom cooler!! Perfect for a smaller home, office or an apartment. It’s quiet enough to sleep with it on as it’s such a great white noise to sleep with! It has all of the expected features controlled on the base or with the remote. It has an Econo function which is really nice so it can be used during the day to keep the room cool but it doesn’t kick on as often to save energy. It has a washable, reusable filter that is built into the side (pictured), three cooling levels, fan mode, smart connection capability so it can be connected to WiFi and easily used with Alexa or Google Assistant. There is some installation, but it’s pretty straightforward. Had our windows not been built wrong it would have been pretty quick installation, but of course we had a little more installation time because of this. However it worked out fine with some longer screws. This is my first window unit and I wasn’t sure real sure about the accordion style window sliders being enough to keep the outside hot air out….but it comes with a thick strip of insulation to place around any cracks and a thin strip of sticky insulation that you can stick around any tiny gaps and seal them off really good. We ordered this canopy because its 12x12 as opposed to the normal 10x10 that is available at your local big box store or sporting goods store... the blue stores lol. We like that it has an enclosure because it will be perfect for winter cigar smoking. However, upon putting it together, the 4 side panels are difficult to line up and it would take quite some time and adjustment to actually seal the corners and keep cold air out. I dont think we will end up using it for the originally intended purpose after all. The one push easy up is pretty nice. Its far more user friendly as a shade structure than the ones from the blue guys. The frame itself is bowed a bit in the top support structure, indicating that the pieces dont quite fit right. I love this gazebo! Unfortunately my previous Wayfair gazebo collapsed due to the tremendous amount of snow and ice we received early in January. I should have removed the canopy, but have not been removing it in past years. Id simply go out with a long push broom and gently lift up each section to allow the snow to fall off. This storm was different. Lesson learned. Unfortunately, its tough to buy a canopy that includes the ribbing that holds it together and atop the frame. Wayfairs customer service department used the replacement canopy I had purchased then returned and applied it as a credit to my account. I then quickly found an open box gazebo, that in my opinion is of better quality. This product has been a nightmare. Missing parts, mangled parts, the manufacturer has been slow to respond or hasn't responded at all. I will never buy anything from this manufacturer again ever! The photo attached is of only some of the many mangled, twisted parts. After contacting and not receiving the parts, I was able to go to an auto body shop that was able to straighten the parts out where they were workable,. This morning we were putting the roof together only to find that the parts which were sent were the wrong ones, they are much smaller and simply don't fit. We are now waiting for the correct roof parts to arrive with no guarantee that this time they will send the correct ones.
