With outstretched arms, the hero of Scott Fitzgerald’s “Great Gatsby” returned each night to the Long Island Sound, where he sought the light at the end of Daisy’s dock. For Gatsby, that light reflected the steady glow of his desire for Daisy, across all boundaries of time and space. We’ve masterfully replicated the dock lights that dotted eastern shorelines in the early 20th century to create a collection that Gatsby himself would single out. While fixture’s triplex glass and solid brass construction will survive the harshest coastal conditions, the fixtures look splendid in fine interiors. We craft authentic details, such as the drip loop at the base of the bulb cage, according to the rigid standards of a bygone era.

This is a reproduction of Emanuel Leutze's famous illustration of Washington Rallying the Troops at Monmouth.  An animated painting of George Washington at the Battle of Monmouth hung in Elizabeth Leavitt Howe's home in the late 1800s. David Leavitt commissioned Emanuel Leutze to paint this work for his only daughter, Elizabeth Leavitt Howe, in 1857. Just a few years earlier, Leutze crafted a three-times larger version of the same scene for Leavitt's gallery in Great Barrington, Massachusetts.

I got this Mccane light armed sconce in the color Antique Copper and it is a beautiful orangey-pink-gold that is so classy and elegant industrial vibe. The speckled clear glass actually is larger than I thought when I placed the order. Overall dimensions states it is 16.5 inches high, 7 inches wide and 10 inches depth. My fault though as I should have just read the description which states “generously sized.” I have it in our hallway from the guest bedroom to guest bathroom. The hallway is narrow and short. I was afraid this would protrude into the walkway and appear too large for the area but now that is it up, and fits in nicely. It is higher on the wall so no one can accidentally bump into it. I believe we have it about 7 feet from top to bottom. We have a low wattage Edison light bulb in it and when turned on – gives the prettiest glow ambient to the space. This arrived quickly, packaged very well and was very easy to install (per my husband) - only took about 30 minutes. Overall – love the look and the price is great. Slight flaws, but still gorgeous ! First let me say this is a solid, high quality faucet set—built to last. The finish & vintage style are eye catching and will instantly upgrade any space. The only con is that there are small flaws on the ceramic white cold faucet surface (see photo). Mine arrived with black specks embedded in the label. If you’re a perfectionist, this is not for you. The book was written by poet Wilbur D. Nesbit and portrays a year in the life of small-town America through the eyes of the twelve-year-old boy - wood gathering, sleigh rides, games of post office, swimming holes, and sandlot ball games.

"General Francis Marion at the Battle of Eutaw Springs" by Thomas B. Welch depicts Francis Marion, known as the "Swamp Fox," leading his militia men at the Battle of Eutaw Springs (September 8, 1781), one of the last major battles of the American Revolution in the Southern theater. His contributions were vital to the American forces under General Nathanael Greene in South Carolina. Marion led a brigade of South Carolina militia, which was part of the advance line of Greene’s forces. His men, along with other militia units, opened the battle by engaging the British pickets. Marion’s militia, alongside Brigadier General Andrew Pickens' troops, initially clashed with the British under Colonel Alexander Stewart. The militia fought well but eventually fell back as planned, allowing Greene’s Continental Army regulars to move forward and continue the attack. Though the battle ended with neither side claiming a decisive victory, it weakened British control in South Carolina. The British forces at Eutaw Springs suffered heavy casualties and were forced to retreat to Charleston, effectively losing their hold on the state. Marion continued leading guerrilla operations against British outposts until the war’s end.
