Was a little disappointed that it didn't come with a remote (apparently a small oversight on my part). With 15' cathedral ceilings, a pull chain was not an option. A quick call to a very helpful Wayfair sales rep pointed me in the right direction on which remote was compatible with this specific fan model. The remote was easy to install and it worked like a charm. Fan assembly was easy. We also added a longer (24") down rod (purchased from our local box store) with no issues. I’ve got a fairly long and steep concrete driveway that is starting to show its age a little bit. There has been some minor cracking from the freeze-thaw cycle each winter. I decided to try the Armour SX5000 water-based sealant to see if it would improve the situation. I have delayed writing this review for a bit as I wanted to driveway to go through at least one winter season. I first pressure washed the entire driveway surface which is pretty time consuming. I then applied the Armour sealant with a manual pump sprayer. This part went fairly quickly. The trick is to get the sealant covering the driveway well, but not so much as to create puddles that aren’t absorbed. I made sure there was no rain in the forecast for a couple of days. Initially, I did half of the driveway first and the first day that it rained the difference on the two sides was very noticeable. Water on the coated side was beading and running off and on the other side it was being absorbed into the concrete. Exactly the asthetic we were looking for to replace a very dated fan/light combo. Install was pretty easy, except the wiring forced us to use only the remote and we can no longer use our wall switch, which is a bummer. I bought two of these, but could only use one. There is an extra wire on this wall control, unlike the current control. The Minka Aire fan wiring was not set up for this, or so we thought.
