So far I'm loving this automatic litter box. It does a good job of separating waste and the waste bin is fairly large. It came with a box of 45 waste bags as well as a litter mat which was a nice bonus I wasn't expecting. Because it's open on the top, it never fully closes when working so there's no danger of a cat getting stuck. It also has sensors that I tested with my hands to make it stop if it detects something in the box while it's cleaning and the sensors worked well. I love how open it is. I kind of wish this one came with the step. Im not sure if the cats would use it, though. I already have one, and it has the front opening. My cats are both good size. This ones a little bit easier. I think for cats to go in and out of. Im not sure how long the bottom piece will last as it seems to be more material than hard plastic. I have had this now for about a month and I love it. I plan on getting another one and replacing the other one as they use this one most often. The other is the typical small opening and the waste draw is small and always needs to be adjusted as nothing falls forward and I can't find the right size bags, no company to order supplies from.. Easy enough to assemble with properly marked items and hardware. A drill isn't required, but I'd recommend having a small one handy as well as a standard phillips screwdriver. The instruction manual includes directions for assembly with the side door opening on the right. The pieces are manufactured so they be used on either side so know where you want the opening before beginning assembly. The cabinet has enough room to fit the PetPivot Large Open-Top Automatic Litter Box with a litter mat and trash bags. The cabinet looks nice and fits where I wanted it. The side opening is a bit larger than necessary so my cat still ends up spreading litter on the outside when she exits. Also, I wish it came in more colors (I'll probably end up painting it). Nice and large but would not use for more than two cats. Very easy to assemble. The stainless steel bottom is somewhat thin. Was hoping for a heavier pan. However, the stainless steel will prevent the odor that occurs with plastic bottoms. While it does help with the scatter of litter, some litter will still come out the front opening. This should be expected. No way to prevent this completely. Started out without top off so cats could adjust. Will add top later and see how they do. Some cats do not like enclosed litter boxes.
