Because the white rug was such a bright expanse of white, I wanted something with a pattern and something to dampen the white a bit. This rug is the perfect charcoal gray and has enough weight to complement the white shag near it--my living and dining room areas are one room. Now, I have to admit, I did a terrible thing, no doubt: The cream pattern in this rug what just a touch too off-white and busy, but when I flipped the rug, the subtle pattern and cream color was just perfect!
