Like every grill I've ever used, some spots are warmer than others. It takes a bit of experimentation. Some times this is an advantage. Move thinner cuts to the sides and thicker cuts nearer the back of the grill to get all to cook evenly and be done at the same time. The axillary side burner heats a bit more slowly than I'd hoped. Nice grill. Heats up quickly and love that the burners light up well. The backlit control knobs are great as they light up red if turned on. I have found that there are zones with different temperatures on the cooking surface, so that needs to be watched when cooking and you may need to move the food around on the surface. Had my father-in-law and uncle-in-law put this together after Easter, didn’t take the guys long and the door line up and nothing is arrived damaged or bent so it looks great, the mesa series looks very nice and I think is a step up from our last grill we had thats doors didn’t line up tehehe.. The base cabinet was pretty beat up. Unfortunately I’ve come to expect this on large shipped items. Assembly was not so bad and the grill looks good from the front.
