Very well made. Installed it on my 30X40 metal pole barn. Secured it with Gorilla Glue Adhesive caulk and two 6 inch lag screws. This cupola will never blow down. It comes in white with a black metal roof. Weather vane is also all black. I painted the sides green with a white accent stripe. Painted the eagle gold and the NSEW white. Looks great. Replacing another Eagle that blew away in a storm. Did a lot of research, ended with this weathervane. It is a classic but, it doesn’t seem to be so ostentatious. Liked the design better of the next size up, but thought it might be too large (tall) for my copula. It’s winter, so I have not climbed up to install it yet. I have one of these that was frozen with rust. I had to hacksaw the rod and then drill it out. I replaced the rod with a 5/16 stainless steel bolt after threading the base and sharpening the head end. I did the same, with the new one, to eliminate the problem. I like to start a review with the packaging. So, it came in a box, very well cared for inside, fragile label on all sides, and it arrived via FedEx in perfect condition. Good job, Fedex!! Upon assembly I noticed it was very straight forward (mechanical mind not necessary), the instructions were clear and written in my language. Looking at this beautiful piece fully assembled made me feel almost awe struck, with its glowing copper eagle, and brass cardinal directions. Solid piece! I've capped the cupola I'm building with it and it made it even more pretty! The only downside that I could find us that it does not come with the mount. Not really a downside though and if I had read the description better I would've known that before the purchase. You will love this piece.
