Oushak rugs are the most popular and one of the oldest traditional rugs. Oushak (Usak) rugs use a particular family of designs, called by the convention after the city of Ushak, Turkey. Oushak rugs are known for the silky, luminous wool they work with. The dyes tend towards cinnamon, terracotta tints, gold, blues, greens, ivory, saffron, and grays. The soft wool is obtained from the chest of a lamb where it's softer because of the minimal sun exposure. The fairly larger knots used in this type of rug enable larger patterns on the rug which is a designer's delight. Most of the dyes are obtained from natural vegetables because of the lighter colors used in these rugs.

Replacing another Eagle that blew away in a storm. Did a lot of research, ended with this weathervane. It is a classic but, it doesn’t seem to be so ostentatious. Liked the design better of the next size up, but thought it might be too large (tall) for my copula. It’s winter, so I have not climbed up to install it yet. I like to start a review with the packaging. So, it came in a box, very well cared for inside, fragile label on all sides, and it arrived via FedEx in perfect condition. Good job, Fedex!! Upon assembly I noticed it was very straight forward (mechanical mind not necessary), the instructions were clear and written in my language. Looking at this beautiful piece fully assembled made me feel almost awe struck, with its glowing copper eagle, and brass cardinal directions. Solid piece! I've capped the cupola I'm building with it and it made it even more pretty! The only downside that I could find us that it does not come with the mount. Not really a downside though and if I had read the description better I would've known that before the purchase. You will love this piece. I have one of these that was frozen with rust. I had to hacksaw the rod and then drill it out. I replaced the rod with a 5/16 stainless steel bolt after threading the base and sharpening the head end. I did the same, with the new one, to eliminate the problem.
