I really was excited about this water filtration system but after setting it up I have to say I’m kind of disappointed. I have been buying bottled water for a long time because even tap water that’s been filtered through a filter that attaches to my kitchen faucet gives me heartburn. On top of that I got a letter from the city saying my water is coming into my house through lead pipes! So I felt it was time to up my water filtration game! My biggest concern with this system is that I wasn’t able to find a replacement filter anywhere. The manufacturer and big box store that sell them show them as sold out. This system came with a filter but what good is it if I can’t get a replacement filter when I need one The set up was a pain as well because it requires running four liters of water through the machine three times before you can use it. So, after all that, how does the water taste It’s ok. It’s not really good tasting water. It also takes up more counter space in my small house. It does what it says so I give it four stars but I’m not going to tell all my friends to buy one. Also, two pieces of plastic were broken off the lid to the water reservoir. My parents got me this system as a housewarming gift and it’s been great! The tap water right now tastes like lakewater due to the algae bloom in the local reservoir, but this machine makes it taste great again and quickly dispenses hot water for ramen and tea. Setup was as easy as finding a spot on the countertop, filling the water tank, and plugging it in. The instructions are clear, and there are a ton of options for how much water to dispense at a time and water temp (including a formula temp for mixing baby formula). I’ve replaced my zojirushi water boiler with this since the hot water function is integrated and so fast. The only thing I wish I could change is to make the dispenser height a little higher so that my sodastream bottles fit underneath. I’m 75 so this thing is a bit hard for me. I didn’t realize the compartment for clean water and used water were in the back. It’s heavy to turn around for me and lifting the water is difficult. You must wash the whole thing every week. My sink is high, newer apt, I’m 4 11” and that’s lifting at chest level. I think for younger folks it’d be great but when it’s done cleaning the water there is about a days worth for me. Otherwise for what it is it’s great! It does take up one counter at my apt. This is a terrific little system! I am a tea drinker and my husband let it slip that the UK has hot water on demand in many places... I asked if we could and lo and behold! Installation was easy*, although we didn't use the supplied filter as we have it going through a filter system already. The temperature isn't exact, so we did have to mess with the dial a little. It doesn't take up room underneath the cabinet either. *There's a crimp piece required. The metal one didn't fit properly, and they provided a plastic one also which worked, but barely.. The beverage/spring water faucet is great - strong water flow. It keeps a bubble at the tip but it doesn't drip. I kept a cup under it and it kept dry with no leaks. The main faucet sprayer has 3 functions: regular flow of water, spray flow and best of all, a super sprayer. It really removes the stubborn stuff. That was an unexpected, happy benefit.
