I’ve got a fairly long and steep concrete driveway that is starting to show its age a little bit. There has been some minor cracking from the freeze-thaw cycle each winter. I decided to try the Armour SX5000 water-based sealant to see if it would improve the situation. I have delayed writing this review for a bit as I wanted to driveway to go through at least one winter season. I first pressure washed the entire driveway surface which is pretty time consuming. I then applied the Armour sealant with a manual pump sprayer. This part went fairly quickly. The trick is to get the sealant covering the driveway well, but not so much as to create puddles that aren’t absorbed. I made sure there was no rain in the forecast for a couple of days. Initially, I did half of the driveway first and the first day that it rained the difference on the two sides was very noticeable. Water on the coated side was beading and running off and on the other side it was being absorbed into the concrete. I am so excited for this mini split unit. Getting a new central air conditioner is just not in the cards right now. This is a very affordable price for the amount of ac and heat that you are getting. Things of note, we had to buy a specialty drill bit to be able to install the units properly. We live in a brick house and needed to be able to drill through the brick. The lines that connect from outside to inside need about a 2 inch diameter hole to pass through. We also decided to buy a rack so that we could hang the main condenser above the ground. We were not able to install this by ourselves and had to call for reinforcements via an HVAC guy. Once everything is finished being installed I will update with the finished product! UPDATE: like others have posted, you will need a special HVAC vacuum to start the unit. You will also need special wire and a 220 outlet to connect to. This is a terrific little system! I am a tea drinker and my husband let it slip that the UK has hot water on demand in many places... I asked if we could and lo and behold! Installation was easy*, although we didn't use the supplied filter as we have it going through a filter system already. The temperature isn't exact, so we did have to mess with the dial a little. It doesn't take up room underneath the cabinet either. *There's a crimp piece required. The metal one didn't fit properly, and they provided a plastic one also which worked, but barely..
