It is obvious that they missed an important step in the instructions regarding spring loaded latches for the inside of the left front gate. If you’re assembling it on your own, I recommend taking your time and double-checking each step before fully tightening everything. Once assembled, I’m very pleased with the finished product. My large-breed dog fits comfortably inside, and the crate feels solid and well-built for everyday use. The storage surface on top is a great bonus — it functions perfectly as an end table and provides extra space for décor or everyday essentials. This is a great piece! It was a little bit of a challenge to put together (I mixed a few steps up). Between my husband and I we figured it out though. It has several options like a spinning foodwater dish (we didn’t install the food bowls because the baby would eat the dog food). But conceptually it’s nice to be able to crate and feed as needed. It also has three sides that open including an attractive sliding door and two ends that fully open. As you can see, the top serves as a changing station for us but could have multiple uses. This thing is nearly perfect! We have three dogs that we kennel occasionally when we leave the house, and I was tired of looking at three wire kennels of different sizes spread throughout the house. I decided to splurge on this 95" furniture-style kennel console, and it's absolutely everything I wanted it to be! It's STURDY. The assembly instructions were easy to follow, and assembly wasn't nearly as daunting a task as I thought it was going to be. Ours did arrive with a pretty nasty scratch/scuff on one of the bottom boards (thanks to a pretty big gash in the box from shipping), but it's covered by a kennel pad/dog bed, so not visible and not worth fussing over.
