The grinder is quiet, however, compared to my other grinder-only device, this doesn’t seem as strong. One of my dogs has very think nails and I need to press the nail into the grinder to really make progress, and this grinder slowed struggled to keep spinning when I did that. This tool might be best for thinner nails or simply just rounding the ends after cutting. My dogs like the grinder versus the clipping sound in general. I was really disappointed to find that this bed isn't truly waterproof... I ordered it to donate to a foster program, and thought it would be perfect for new kittens/puppies and their mothers - they can be pretty messy. :( The outer nylon cover is absolutely waterproof and as heavy and chew-resistant as described, but I dribbled water on the furry mattress cover and found that the interior was damp after a minute. I still rate it high though, and recommend it. I'll tell them to use pee-pads over the mattress and it'll work well. It's very well made from nice materials. The mattress is stiff enough to not crush over time, but is also very supportive and comfortable. The side rails are stiff enough to stay upright and not sag under a heavy head. The non- skid bottom is actually "tacky" enough to really be non-skid. All of those qualities make it a better bed than most.
