It was easy to add this fan to a location where a porch light was no longer needed. I purchased a 3 way switch and connected inside so that we can change the speed with a wall switch. I did not add any additional wiring, so it does not oscillate. However, it is mounted in a 9x9 ft space, so that is not a problem. It is very comparable in sound and pressure to the same desk top fan that I use in my bedroom. It still has that creepy cold LED glow that reminds me of the movie The Shining. I also didn’t like that. There is no pattern on the ceiling from the Crystal looking lampshade. That said, it was a great price, and I am going to move it to a room where I need a ceiling fan but not a light.
