When I selected it online, I thought the dots in between the diamond patterns were just white painted rubber, but they are in fact metal-backed crystal rivets. The only issue I had was the mat came with a missing rivet, but overall, the quality is nice. Have not placed it outside yet, since our current mat is fused down with ice and snow. A genuine one-of-a-kind, this fine vintage distressed rug pairs a traditional design with pronounced abrash.
