It came together easily. The assembly was tricky but not impossible and I was able to complete this with 6 year old and toddler aged "helpers". My husband's size 11 sneakers fit fine as well as my kids' shoes. I think a lot of the negative reviews are due to assembly error. It did seem like we didn't have enough of a certain type of screw, but we had too much of a similar one so I just used those and it came together fine. I'm not sure if I messed up or they did. All in all I'm really happy with it. The kids are excited to use it and it's cleaned up our entry area nicely. The only assembly tip I would give it to put the brackets for wall mounting it when you're assembling it in the beginning and not as a last step. Screwing this into the wall seems like an essential step even if you don't have a toddler because it's so top heavy, but they have wall mounting as a final step. It would have been a lot easier to place the bracket on the board before the board it goes on is attached to the main body, than to do it as a last step before bolting to the wall. Nice shoe cabinet. There was one missing bolt and Wayfair was quick to respond and sent several replacement parts. My flat shoes, like Keds fit good. Four to five pair per compartment. My husband’s shoes don’t fit very well. Only two pair per compartment. We added legs to make it sit up higher than our baseboard trim for a closer wall fit. I have bought many pieces from 17 Stories. Contrary to other reviews it’s quite easy to put together. Make sure that piece 4 is the same direction as 5 otherwise the holes for shelves will not line up. I made that mistake but had it fixed within a minute. It’s pretty sturdy once it’s together.
