Honestly, some people should not be allowed to write reviews if they don’t understand how to use the simplest of products!! My first kettle is 20 years old and I only bought a new one because I changed my kitchen color scheme. Over the years that kettle heated water on gas, electric, and wood stoves with never a problem . The platter is dishwasher safe, but I hand wash it anyway along with the wood insert which holds up to the serrated knife I use. This would make a great wedding or housewarming gift too!
