I’ve already had to demineralize the unit which takes time and water. To prevent this from happening so quickly I will try to make sure the waste water is emptied promptly after filtering. I’m leaving the canister empty most of the time. I’ve had some trouble getting the plastic water canister to ‘lock’ in place when full of water, finding I have to push down more than is intuitive.
