Putting this lamp together was a breeze … did it in under 10 mins. It looks great on our entryway table where our accent colors are black and gold themes. The marble base is substantial and this lamp will not tip over. It has 2 light sockets and puts out a decent amount of ambient light in the space. There is some weight overall to the lamp and it looks more expensive than it actually is. The gold color is quite nice and not cheap looking. I would not use it in my master bedroom as I prefer lamps the cast light in all directions, including upwards. But for ambient secondary lighting, this is perfect! I love it! I’m honestly obsessed with these lamps. The coloring is beautiful in person and adds such a warm, elevated look to the room. The base is very solid and heavier than a bookend, which makes them feel high quality and sturdy. That said, the weight is something to keep in mind depending on the table you’re placing them on. If a table were bumped and the lamp fell, it would hit the ground hard. The packaging was top-tier. Everything arrived perfectly cushioned and protected, and the lampshades didn’t have a single dent. You can tell care went into shipping. My only small wish is that there were a separate onoff switch in addition to the dimmer. We use smart bulbs, and depending on the dimmer setting there can be some flickering, so you have to find the sweet spot. That’s more about how we’re using them than a flaw in the lamp itself. I read all the reviews and knew the pros and cons ppl were saying. My only disappointment with this lamp is that the finials are very cheap looking… not a heavy brass plated look. I decided to keep the lamps because I love everything else about them. I did read where some ppl felt the gold on the base looked cheap but I didn’t think so, just the finials…but you really can’t tell once the finials are in place. The lamps are a classy timeless look!
