I was specifically looking for a 24” x 24” square table for my small apartment, and this worked perfectly for creating a small dining area. The top feels solid, and I paired it with a table base from another seller since this is just the tabletop. The finish wasn’t quite what I expected, but it’s still nice overall. Also worth noting that only one side is finished—the bottom is unfinished. Mine looks similar to the darker wood shown in the first two photos. They all have their own beautiful and unique character, and will always be created from kiln dried chestnut. Some will have curl, knots, and/or spalting, and no two will look exactly the same. If you order multiple shelves in one order, we will create them from the same slab or same log so they look similar and complement each other. It is a very nice shelf but I thought it would be 12” deep for the entire length of the shelf and there is just the middle spot that maybe reach 12” the other part of the shelf are around 8-9” at the most.
