I wish furniture manufacturers would stop to consider that not every piece of furniture is going to be put against a wall, so it would be nice to have a decent backing. This gazebo came well packaged. The instructions were spot on and we had it done in 14 hours. It is very sturdy and well thought out. I suggest that you seal the wood before putting it together as others have said. We mounted this to a pre- existing concrete patio. The mounting bolts were a little small so we changed out the way we mounted it to the slab. This thing is not moving! I had one missing part and I called them on a Sunday and a holiday weekend at that and they answered. I gave them the serial number and the part number and the gal said it will arrive in 2-5 days. Wood products should never be washed in the dishwasher. Rejuvenate and protect your board by rubbing it down with butcher block oil after each use. When the board is dry, apply the oil liberally and allow it to soak in thoroughly before use. Regular application of our butcher block oil will prevent cracking and preserve the rich natural colors of the wood. From time to time, the surface may become "Bumpy". This is completely natural as we leave all of our wood in its natural state with no varnishes or lacquers. You can simply use high grit sandpaper to smooth it out and oil it again to bring it back to the new!
