Great starter coop! We ended up stapling chicken wire around the entire outside for extra protection and also added a second latch to the bottom of the door. We did have missing pieces to 4 of the latches and had to go buy some. This is a really nice chicken coop. It did take three people to put it together and took us a total of 5 hours to put together.(older people so took longer) It will fit 6-8 regular chickens but we put 10 frizzle chickens in it with plenty of space for them. (frizzles are less than half the size of regular chickens) The wire around the bottom is great at keeping out predetors but we dug down about a foot and put wire to keep them from digging under. Smaller than what is projected in the picture, but true to size of the dimensions that were provided. Not a setup I would leave uncovered / exposed to the elements as the materials are thinner / less sturdy than expected for something to house animals. Excellent duck coop. Easy to set up with my grand childrens assistance. I added more layers of poultry wire and hardware cloth to the sides and top make break-ins more difficult. Also hardware cloth used as ground floor and apron covered with sod and then pine shavings. Placed the heavy duty XL anti-diggers around the perimeter. We have not had any intrusions in this set-up.. Our chicken ladies love this coop! First one in explored it and the other three followed after her.
