Arrived very well wrapped. Was a box in a box with the inner box being bubble wrapped. They are wood with a textured finish. Each standing 9" tall. They both operate using one AA battery not included. Only thing that I might say is if you are planning on using these in a childrens bedroom or area. I got these clocks for my new therapy practice. They are super cute and will fit in perfectly without overwhelming the room.
