The ficus Alii, or Amstel King as it is sometimes called, is a large plant that originally came from Asia, Malaysia, and India. It was first grown commercially in Hawaii where it got the Hawaiian name alii which means king. Although a ficus Alii is closely related to the ficus Benjamina, the Alii variety is much more tolerant and forgiving. The long, narrow leaves are naturally glossy and taper to a point. As this ficus tree grows, it may drop its lower leaves revealing a bare woody trunk, giving this tree a palm-like appearance. Care is easier than for many of its relatives. You'll find it's less temperamental than F. benjamina, that drops its leaves when it doesn't get what it wants. However, leaf drop is possible with 'Alii' if it doesn't get enough light and regular waterings. The Ficus alii standard image that you can see here got its name from its single upright trunk. Its long slender dark green leaves provides an oriental look. This appeal makes it an extremely attractive plant that is appealing both to the interior plantscape industry and to the home market. Moreover, it is believed to have the ability to purify the air. Growth tips are pronounced pink to red that beautifully contrasts against its broad, longer, wider, banana-shaped glossy leaves.

The Pencil Cactus (Euphorbia tirucalli) also commonly called milk bush due to its thick, white sap is native to semi-arid tropical regions of Africa and India. In the wild, the Pencil Cactus can grow up to 30 feet tall and well over 6 feet indoors. This stem succulent is not a true cactus and photosynthesizes in its stems, not through the small leaves that appear at the end of its new growth (which are inconsequential to the plants health). The plants have slender, slightly toothed stems without any foliage growth. The name derives from the branches, which are about the diameter of a pencil. When new branches sprout, the end of the branch can be tinted slightly pink and tiny leaves may appear. These leaves will disappear once the branch matures. The pencil cactus needs high levels of light and moderately low moisture. It is an excellent houseplant and provides an interesting silhouette.

Bougainvillea is not your typical houseplantin its natural state, it's a sprawling climber and shrub with formidable thorns, often found on the exterior of buildings (like climbing up a trellis or over a fence) or in gardens in subtropical-to-tropical climates. It's known for its green foliage and vibrant pink, purple, and orange hues that most people assume are the plant's flowershowever, they're actually petal-like bracts that hide bougainvillea's true blooms, which are typically small white or yellow buds. If you don't live in a warm enough climate to successfully grow bougainvillea outdoors year-round, you're in luckthe shrub is surprisingly easy to grow indoors in containers or pots and can thrive if the right conditions are maintained. Despite its showy nature, bougainvillea is not a particularly high-maintenance plant. The vine-y shrub typically blooms three times a year once established, often going dormant and losing its leaves, bracts, and flowers during the cooler winter months. Bougainvillea plants are lovers of sunlight and need full daily exposure in order to thrive. Because of this, many growers choose to move their potted bougainvillea outdoors during the summer months in order to ensure it gets enough rays.

If you are lucky enough to live in USDA hardiness zones 8 to 11, you can grow a banana plant (Musa spp.) outdoors and let it get as large and spread as wide as the space you have in your garden. But if you're hankering for a tropical environment and live in a colder zone, you can still grow this stunning specimen indoors in a container. Most types of bananas plants prefer to grow in full sun, meaning at least six hours of direct sunlight on most days. However, some varieties can scorch easily and will do better in partial shade. These plants love organically rich, deep soil with good drainage and a slightly acidic soil pH. They typically have poor tolerance for salt in the soil. Banana trees are tropical and originate in rainforests, so they need a lot of water and plenty of moisture in the air. They do best when planted in groups fairly close together, as this helps to retain moisture in the leaves. Water regularly to make sure the soil stays evenly moist but not soggy. Avoid overwatering, which can cause root rot. These plants thrive in warm, humid conditions, but they don't like temperature extremes. Even the hardy, cold-tolerant banana tree species prefer consistent temperatures ranging between 75 and 95 degrees Fahrenheit.

Mandevilla, also known as rocktrumpet, is a genus of flowering vines that grow in tropical and subtropical climates. The five-petal flowers are often showy and fragrant, typically coming in shades of pink, red, and white, occasionally with yellow throats. They generally bloom in summer and can stretch into fall, though in warm climates they can bloom year-round. Some species within the genus have smaller, more plentiful blooms while others have fewer, larger blooms. Their foliage is usually a glossy green. Within their USDA growing zones, mandevilla plants can be grown as perennials; gardeners outside of their zones often like to grow them as annuals, especially in containers. These fast-growing vines should be planted in mid-to-late spring once the temperature is reliably warm and the risk of frost has passed. Mandevilla plants are fairly easy to care for as long as you get their growing conditions right. The vines thrive in lots of light, warmth, and moisture, so plan to water yours whenever the soil begins to dry out, and feed your plant during the growing season. If you wish to promote a bushier growth habit on these vines, pinch back the stems in early spring. If you let them naturally grow as vines, its a good idea to provide them with a trellis or other structure they can climb around. The vines also look great in hanging baskets.

Warneckii' dracaena (Dracaena deremensis 'Warneckii') is a green dracaena cultivar with white stripes along the edges of its leaves. It is a shorter dracaena that matures to a height of only 4 feet tall. While its low light requirements make it easy to grow indoors, it can also be grown in shady sites outdoors in U.S. Department of Agriculture plant hardiness zones 10b and 11. Other cultural requirements for 'Warneckii' are also fairly easy to meet. When these requirements are not met, or if it is exposed to a common chemical, the leaves tend to develop unsightly brown tips. Overwatering, underwatering and dry conditions can cause dracaena brown spots on 'Warneckii' leaves. It should generally be watered once per week but this varies, depending on the season and humidity levels. In dry homes or dry outdoor conditions in spring, summer and fall, 'Warneckii' dracaena may need to be watered more often. A 'Warneckii' dracaena grown in a container should be watered until the water drains from the bottom. Empty the water from the catch basin below the container. 'Warneckii' does not require high humidity but, if the humidity level is less than 40 percent, the leaf tips may turn brown and brittle.

The Brazilian Cherry Tree, scientifically known as Eugenia brasiliensis and commonly referred to as the Grumichama Tree, is a tropical fruiting tree prized for its ornamental value and delicious, cherry-like fruit. Native to Brazil, this tree features glossy evergreen foliage and a naturally dense, symmetrical canopy that makes it a beautiful addition to gardens and edible landscapes alike. Its standout feature is the dark purple to nearly black fruit, which resembles a cherry in both size and appearance. These fruits develop in clusters along the branches and are often described as having a sweet, juicy taste with subtle overtones of grape and plum. The tree’s white, fragrant flowers appear in spring and give way to fruit by early to mid-summer, adding seasonal interest and visual appeal. The Grumichama Tree is well-suited for gardeners seeking a tropical or subtropical fruiting tree that also serves as an eye-catching ornamental specimen. It can be grown in the ground in warm climates or in large containers for patio or greenhouse cultivation. This tree is relatively compact in size, typically maturing to heights of 15 to 25 feet, and can be pruned to maintain a smaller profile if desired. Its adaptability, attractive foliage, and fruit production make it a popular choice for home gardeners, tropical collectors, and enthusiasts looking for a unique and rewarding plant to grow.

The Mango Tree (Mangifera indica) is a fast-growing tropical fruit tree prized for its lush foliage, fragrant blossoms, and delicious fruit. Known for its glossy, evergreen leaves and broad canopy, this tree adds both visual appeal and practical value to any landscape. When mature, mango trees can reach heights of 30 to 100 feet depending on variety and growing conditions, although container-grown or grafted types remain more compact. Each spring or early summer, the tree produces small, cream-colored flower clusters that eventually yield one of the worlds most sought-after tropical fruits. Mangoes range in flavor from rich and spicy to sweet and citrusy, and typically ripen during the warmest months of the year. This heat-loving tree thrives in subtropical to tropical climates and adapts well to both ground planting and large containers in warmer zones. Ideal for home gardeners seeking a reliable, productive fruit tree, the Mango Tree offers not only flavorful harvests but also ornamental value, with its dense crown, long leaves, and striking seasonal growth. With the right placement and care, it can become a centerpiece of your edible landscape, orchard, or patio garden. A rewarding tree for growers who appreciate beauty and bounty in one.The 'Florigon' mango tree is a Florida-bred variety that stands out for its early ripening, reliable production, and refreshing, mild flavor. Originally developed from a cross involving the Saigon mango, the Florigon is well-suited for both home gardeners and collectors looking for a compact, manageable tree that consistently delivers high-quality fruit. The tree exhibits a moderate growth habit with a well-shaped, rounded canopy and dense foliage, making it attractive and easy to maintain in backyard landscapes or small orchards. The fruit is medium-sized, oval-shaped, and turns a bright golden-yellow when fully ripe, often without any blush. One of the most appealing features of the Florigon mango is its exceptionally early seasonoften ripening before most other varieties, making it one of the first tastes of summer. The flesh is smooth, fiberless, and juicy, offering a sweet and lightly tangy flavor with hints of citrus and tropical melon. Its refreshing taste and clean finish make it an excellent mango for fresh eating, especially for those who prefer a less intense, easygoing flavor. The Florigon tree is also disease-tolerant and highly productive, further enhancing its reputation as a dependable, user-friendly variety.

One of the most colorful Dracaena varieties available. The red tinted foliage adds a decorative accent to any room. May be grown outdoors during frost-free weather. Use it as a potted plant, in the garden, or mixed with colorful annual plants in a large patio planter. Its easy to care for, requiring little light or water, and is quite hardy in most temperatures. The Madagascar Dragon Tree is characterized by long, narrow leaves that are extremely spiky. The foliage is generally dark green with edges that are adorned with a reddish purple and can grow up to 16 inches in length. As the tree grows, it will naturally lose its lowest leaves leaving tufts of leaves atop a bare woody cane. Marginata is the coolest looking variety. It grows slower than the other varieties, but has a much more vibrant red pink coloration. Dragon trees do best in partial shade. This means that if youre growing indoors, you should have it on a north-facing windowsill, near one facing east or west, and further away from one facing south. You will know youre giving the plant too much light if the leaves burn. On the flip side, youll know you arent giving it enough light when the accent colors on the leaves start to fade.

Gorgeous and realistic PVC faux foliage grass in a handmade decorative large cement-reinforced fiber pot. This large and high-quality piece makes the perfect decorative accent for any home or office. Enjoy the beauty that pop of green adds to any space, without any of the difficulty in keeping it alive!
These artificial foliage grass plants are fantastic! I was looking for artificial plants to go on either side of my new table (also a great buy from Wayfair!) and these fit perfectly. At 48 inches tall, they bookend the table nicely giving some depth with the variegated height. I chose black matte to match out patio bar and accessories but I am certain the white is gorgeous as well. The grass looks real! The black pebbles in the planter are stationary which is great - they don’t fall out when I move the planters around. I did think the planters would be heavier. I had to bring them inside when we had a strong wind storm last week. One fell over, but didn’t break. So that was impressive as well. Great put has and no maintenance!. Anonymous. MI. The plant is a great size and looks quite real (it’s the one in the back on these photos), but the smaller branches have no wire, and they don’t bend well. So it’s tough to get them to lie down the way you want them to. I’m planning to use my hairdryer to warm them up a little and then fold them down, and I’ve also got some fairly heavy little magnets that I plan to attach to the ends of the leaves to get them to droop a bit. But wire in all the branches would be much better.. Terry. Spokane, WA. Tue Feb 14 2023
