Very much waterproof and the backing is amazing, it definitely doesn't move around on the floor. Doesn't look like it will last very long with a lot of wear and tear, but for the pricepoint it is well worth it. This is my first rug purchase made online. It works in my space beautifully! At first it seemed more bold of a pattern because of all the black in it but I rotated the rug because there was less black on the other side of it and that worked much better. The area with more black is now partially covered by a piece of furniture. All rugs can totally change a room, just by rotating them. This rug is incredibly soft and beautiful. Love it!. Elizabeth.
