Enclosure cover is easy to remove. The transformer has knockouts on three sides with clips for line voltage wiring. Secondary wiring for class 2 transformers does not require conduit sheathed cable or clamp wiring techniques. This transformer has a low minimum load requirement of 1W to allow the use of LED products. Maybe dimmed using an electronic low voltage dimmer.

Installed this switch to replace the identical original switch. The ceiling fan was still set on the highest speed as required. However all the new switch’s 3 positions all turned the fan to the highest speed, not low, medium and high speed as before. It does still turn the fan off. The switch was obviously defective.
