This outlet is designed to be recessed into the wall with a fire-rated abs rough-in box, covered with a brushed finished stainless steel door that protrudes no more than 1/2" out from the finished surface. The gas plug (TM) door can be closed while the appliance remains hooked up. It is manufactured with an extra safety feature that ensures the gas supply is shut off before an appliance can be disconnected, which along with the lockable door provides the owner with peace of mind and a clean method of concealing pipes and valves.

Awesome light fixture. Clean contemporary look, and the trim-less feature is very unique. The installation does require careful cutting of the drywall, and neatly taping/mudding around it, after installation. Well worth the extra work though as the look is so clean and minimal.
