The water heated up really fast - like 4-5 hours, but I am in the south, so our ground water wasn't too cold. The delivery was professional and they put it exactly where I requested. Note - it comes crated/wrapped on a pallet, so either have hand trucks, dollies or pallet jack to move it to where you want it. I have never had a batch disposal before. I have always had the traditional ones that require a switch to turn on. The only real issue (and its not much of one) is with how our sink is in the kitchen island there isn't a good spot to set the plunger when not in use other than in the sink itself. It is powerful and I am really happy how well it does its job. There is no flap that covers the opening to the drain like on traditional disposals. I thought this would be an issue having it open and silverware falling in. With our drain off to the right it really has not been a problem. Although I did have a fork fall into it the fact that the disposals "neck" between the sink and the bottom is long so the fork never fully fell into the disposal it just stood straight up. Also not having that flap covering the disposal makes it much easier to see at a glance if anything has made its way in that should be there. It is noisy but not bad, just as I expected as from traditional. I like the safety of it not turning on unless the plunger is in. We have young kiddos. Just makes me feel better. This is a terrific little system! I am a tea drinker and my husband let it slip that the UK has hot water on demand in many places... I asked if we could and lo and behold! Installation was easy*, although we didn't use the supplied filter as we have it going through a filter system already. The temperature isn't exact, so we did have to mess with the dial a little. It doesn't take up room underneath the cabinet either. *There's a crimp piece required. The metal one didn't fit properly, and they provided a plastic one also which worked, but barely.. The Avalon 3 Temperature Self Cleaning Bottle-less Water Cooler with Child Safety Lock is made with an innovative stainless steel cabinet. It offers a choice of 3 water temperatures. The easy-to-use push button spouts make it so much more convenient to use. Simply press the temperature button of your choice and allow the water to flow from the given spout. The machine's highly efficient compressor makes the cold water crisp and ice cold at approximately 47° F without the need to add ice cubes to your drink. The hot faucet is hot enough to cook one's tea coffee or any other steaming hot beverage at approximately 185° F. Due to the extremely hot water, we’ve added a child safety lock on the hot water faucet. There is a built-in nightlight making the water spouts visible in the dark. This water cooler is bottle-less with an NSF-certified activated carbon filter (listed as model Avalon A4FILTER) and a sediment filter (listed as model Avalon A5FILTER) in the cabinet and a water line that can be attached to your water source. The water is taken from your water source and filtered through the filters and then through the machine's hot and cold water tanks. The filter will purify the tap water eliminating any chlorine, lead, rust, and bacteria.
