We just had it installed yesterday. Recommend that you get a print out of the specifications and the installation. From what I was able to read in Wayfare’s description section, we would be able to install the unit flush with the ceiling. And unfortunately, because I didn’t have printed specifications we had to drop down the unit a foot from the ceiling. Not the inconspicuous flush mount unit and I was hoping for. According to my contractor, this was a very complicated unit to install. To be fair this is a relatively new category of range top hoods that are being offered. Pleased with the noise level, but have yet to cook with it. Read reviews from other previous purchasers, and a common statement was how small the remote controller was. A few things to point out: the color of the wooden border of this clock was almost a blonde natural finish when I unpackaged it, it seems (based on the review photos,) that the finish fluctuates. I actually had some dark walnut stain that I applied to darken it up, prior to this fix, it was so blonde that it seemed it hadn’t even been stained at all. But more importantly, as others have noted, the number 4 in Roman Numerals is NOT depicted accurately on this clock. All of the other numbers are, so it’s rather strange that the designer made this flaw. Also, because the primary color of the metal framing and numbers on the clock is black, the hands (which are also black) blend in to the clock, so it’s often quite hard to see them. I will likely need to lightly brush the tips of each hand with gold paint to make them stand out. Lastly, other reviewers note that the clock is silent, mine is not, it has a distinctive ticking. You can definitely hear it from across the room. I’m rating it four stars for its light hanging weight and it’s large size. A star off for the number error and the loud ticking.. Jennifer. This clock is GORGEOUS!!!!! It’s looks amazing over our stairs. You will definitely need some handy men to hang it. We called a specialist.
