Four stars for the unit, but 2 stars for Angi. This unit seems to be very well made. It seems very sturdy and the pieces are quite heavy. I bought this in chestnut and I like the color. I would advise anyone considering the professional assembly to truly understand the complexity of the installation if it needs to be cut to size. Angi grossly underestimated the amount of time involved. The tradesman has to cut the wooden shelves and the metal bars to fit. All the drawers need to be assembled, and the glides attached. The entire unit needs to be attached to studs (preferably) and/or anchored into the wall. And of course it needs to be leveled. I was allotted two hours to complete the job, which is ridiculous. When I contacted Wayfair, they did reschedule Angi to finish the job, but what a fiasco. You will save a huge amount by doing this, but it was very inconvenient to say the least.. Karen. MD. Very happy with this closet system. I put it together myself and just needed some help with lifting the top pieces on. I thought the instructions were very easy to follow and was supplied with extra screws just in case. The only suggestion that I have is that in one of the areas to hang clothes the bar is too low to actually hang shirts or even folded pants. This closet system is SO pretty is made of pretty high quality particle board! For the price this is better than I ever could have hoped! I will say, I built this totally by myself (18F) and BYFAR the worst part of building this was bringing it all downstairs and into the room, the assembly was very straightforward only took about 3 hours. These will not easily fit through doors if you build the unit totally BTW (I had to build the units in the closet)!! Great system! Lots of parts since I ordered 3 separate systems for my complete closet design. Since this was my first time installing this type of system it took me quite a while to get organized and confident in how easy it really is to assemble. The direction sheets are good but general since there are so many configuration choices making the system very customizable. The (3) systems were well packaged and all arrived on 1 heavy pallet ( 16 separate boxes I believe). Unfortunately the box labels were not clearly marked as to which boxes went with which system which made trying to inventory all the parts for each system impossible. However, the components used are the same so really didn’t matter as I ultimately had all the parts I needed to complete my layout. I did recieve two incorrect 8”drawer faces that were grey in color and different style then the white color I ordered. As you can see in the photos, I completed the assembly with them so we can use the system while I wait for the (2) correct replacement drawer fronts. The good: these are solid wood organizers, and they feel sturdy and of good quality. They are all modular, so if you order more than one, as we did, you can mix and match drawers to customize the ratio of drawers to shelves. Also, you can build it in multiple configurations to match your needs and closet size and shape. They do look great in the closet. Now the not so good: First of all, if you’re hoping for a nice ash blonde color like the photo, you’ll be disappointed. These units are ORANGE. They’re fine, it’s not a dealbreaker, but wow, what a difference from the photo. Another con is that if you buy multiple units of different types, get ready for a major puzzle solving challenge. The drawers are shipped in separate boxes and there are no labels on the boxes or information on the John Louis website that tells you which box goes with which unit. Wayfair customer service couldn’t help at all. Our confusion was compounded by the fact that when we finally figured it all out, we discovered that two drawers were missing from the shipment. Finally, you have to be pretty handy to assemble them. My husband is a fine woodworker and even for him there was a long learning curve on the first one. He also had trouble attaching the drawer glides—the small screws didn’t sink in straight and continually drifted off the grooved guides on the sides of the drawers. It might be that the wood grain has soft and harder bands so the screws naturally drift into the softer areas. The first drawer took forever to fit to the frame and when we finally got it in, the soft close mechanism didn’t work. But the second drawer seems to work as promised.. Anonymous. IL.
