The power on the Fotile range hood is excellent. For most cooking, I stay on the first 2 out of 3 fan settings. For high smoke activities such as seasoning a wok or searing steak, the 3rd settings is more than enough to suck up all the fumes. The fan speeds are all pretty quiet. Easy to install and looks good in the space. I’m most impressed with the fan noise, at max speed it sounds like a table fan or similar to white noise and not like a steam engine like most range hoods. Meh. It’s ok I guess. Pretty flimsy in comparison to the Miele that I’m replacing. I had very specific measurements for the chimney size, exhaust venting and style that would work so I guess beggars can’t be choosers but it’s not really what I would consider to be high end or even mid quality. Just cheaply made in my opinion. It’s held on with 2 x 1.25” 6 wood screws and my wife can lift it up by herself. The Miele we took down was a beast and solid like a piece of granite. This thing I can bend with my bare hands. Also the packaging is pretty lame. When it arrived the styrofoam was broken and there was a big dent on the back I had to hammer out (won’t ever see it). I am super impressed with this. Installation was easy except the ducting part that took some work but once installed it works so well. On the lowest setting it’s barely noticeable yet still powerful.
